About Rachel

I am a 22 year old intern... that's right, I spent four years and $200,000 dollars attending a top 25 liberal arts college to become an intern.  I make just about enough money to buy myself groceries and not much else, so most of the recipes on my blog are things I've made myself for dinner!

Currently, I'm working as an intern at the MacArthur Agro-Ecology Research Center in Lake Placid, Florida where I am studying the disease ecology of feral swine and cattle.  Pretty much my job is to run around and chase pigs while collecting poop samples... I know, it's hard to have such a glamourous life, but hey, someone's gotta do it, right?

I am here through the middle of December and after that, I'll be traveling to Wunseidel, Germany to visit some friends from college.  After that however, is a blank slate.  For now, when I'm not working, I am cooking, running, and blogging to keep myself busy, Lake Placid is not exactly a booming metropolis and it takes about 30 minutes just to get out of my dirt road driveway.

Before graduating, I had it all planned out, I'd graduate (check), get a job or internship doing biology research (check), apply for graduate school and get my PhD in ecology and become a full-time research biologist... that's where things have gotten a little fuzzy.  Now, I'm not sure what I want to do or be, so for now, I am wandering.
